day 2

Begin your day with a trip briefing and orientation from your local English-speaking hiking guide before setting out to explore the Pralongià High Plateau, accessible by foot or cable car. Surrounded by dramatic peaks including the majestic Marmolada, the highest in the Dolomites, the plateau offers scenic hiking (1–6 hours), cozy mountain inns for lunch, and breathtaking views. Today’s hike takes you from San Cassiano to the Santa Croce Sanctuary at the base of Sasso della Croce, passing charming Ladin hamlets and pilgrimage trail markers along the way. After a scenic lunch stop at the sanctuary, continue through woods and meadows to the village of La Val, before a private transfer to San Vigilio. On the way, enjoy a unique beer and cheese tasting in a WWII-era stone bunker, hosted by a cheese and beer expert who’ll guide you through historic tunnels and regional flavors. After breakfast, take a private transfer to Passo Furcia for a scenic hike to the summit of Kronplatz (2,275m / 7,464'), offering breathtaking 360° views of the Alps, from the Dolomites to the Zillertal and Ortler ranges. At the top, visit the LUMEN Museum to explore the history of mountain photography, then enjoy a gourmet lunch at AlpINN, a Michelin-concept restaurant led by Chef Norbert Niederkofler, featuring locally sourced dishes and panoramic views. Descend by cable car and transfer to your hotel, where a traditional regional dinner awaits.
